WEEK 5: Block diagram and circuit diagram

Activity: Block diagram and circuit diagram

Objective: To represent the electrical circuit and block connected

Contents:

We use block diagram to represent the basic flow of our project. For the circuit diagram we use two software which is fritzing and circuito.io to design the circuit diagram. The software are easy to use because it will automatic connect the wire to components.

Conclusion:

We have done create the circuit diagram and block diagram for our project.

WEEK 4: Objective, scope and limitation

Date: 21- 25/8/2017 (Monday- Friday)
Activity: Objective, scope and limitation

Objective: To determine the objective, scope and limitation of the project

Contents:

Before build the project, the important thing is determine the objective, scope and limitation of the project. 

Results/Analysis:

Objective:

·        To give friendly way to control power extension

·        To make a flexible and portable switch that can control any home appliance or others electrical appliance which connect with the power extension.

·        To study about Arduino circuit in details especially the coding program for the project.

Scope and limitation:

                         i.         Hardware

The smartphone must be having an android application that is called “Arduino Bluetooth Control Device”. This application will connect to smartphone by using a Bluetooth module HC-05 and then the power extension can use.

The IR sensor will switch on the socket after user touch the sensor and touch again to switch off.

                       ii.         Software

Upload the coding to the micro-controller using Arduino software.

The limitation of this project is the range of Bluetooth connectivity and sensor detection.

Conclusion:

We successfully find the objective, scope and limitation of the project

WEEK 3: Surveying and Selecting Topics

Date: 14- 18/08/2017 (Monday- Friday)

Activity: Surveying Topics

Objective: To choose the topic of FYP project

Contents:

After the meeting with Madam Norhaslinawati, we made some basic research about the tittle project and we get all the knowledge about the project .We interesting while do the research and we will complete this project. Madam Norhaslinawati would be a great supervisor based on his wide knowledge and experience about electronic engineering.

Results/Analysis:

Topics that we survey:

·     Automatic parking system

·     Sensor determine fruit

·     Friendly power extension

·     Automatic wiper system 

Conclusion:

All of title project we are presented to madam and explain. End of meeting, madam approve The Friendly Power Extension as a title for our FYP project. We need to do the more research about The Friendly Power Extension.   

WEEK 2: First FYP Briefing

Date: 11/8/2017 (Friday)

Title: First FYP Briefing

Objective: To brief about FYP subject

Contents:

This semester, FYP briefing subject was held on second week at Gemilang Hall. The attendance of the FYP students is compulsory. The briefing was conducted by Madam Dr. Siti Marwangi Mohamad Maharum and Madam Siti Zaiummi Mohd Zawawi.

Results/Analysis:

In the briefing, the FYP committees have briefed us about:

·        Scope of projects

·        Title selection

·        Project Assessment

Conclusion: 

The coordinator brief very clear and we understand and get the information about FYP subject. The important thing is we can know the basic progress and due date of assessment for FYP subject.

WEEK 1: Selecting and register a supervisor

Date: 1- 4/08/2017 (Tuesday- Friday)

Activity: Selecting and register a supervisor

Objective: To get the supervisor for FYP project

Contents:

We decided to find for lecturers that are still available to be the supervisor for FYP. We chose to have the same lecturer advisor for my subject academic because it is safer and if anything happens. Most of the preferable lecturers are unavailable to be my supervisor because they had reached the allocated number of students for each lecturer.

So we went to meet the lecturer which is Madam Norhaslinawati Binti Ramli to ask her to be our supervisor and propose our own idea project. She agreed and requested us to do some research first before confirming about the title project.
