WEEK 8: Costing

Date: 25- 29/9/2017 (Monday- Friday)
Activity: Costing
Objective: To manage the budget of the project
Contents:

This week we plan the cost of components that we use in our project. The costing is only for main components, it not include the price of all things to make the whole project. After we do the costing, we go to Jalan Pasar, Pudu to buy all of the main components. We buy the components at one electronic shop which is Sigma Components Sdn. Bhd because the price of components are cheap. We refer to our costing while buy all the components to avoid over budget because UniKL BMI have provide the budget RM300 for one person.

Conclusion:

The costing is very important while build the project because it will give the estimate cost of the project.

WEEK 7: Flowchart and Schematic diagram

Date: 11- 15/9/2017 (Monday- Friday)
Activity: Flowchart and Schematic diagram
Objective: To create the flow and simulate of the project
Contents:

We use the flowchart to describe our project flow and also can be as reference if have something error with the project. Next before build the project, we create the schematic diagram using Proteus software to simulate the circuit. This software very easy for user to simulate the circuit project. After we have done, we submit this task to Madam Haslinawati to check our flowchart and schematic diagram of our project.

Conclusion:

We have learn more about the flowchart which is the shape of the box. Madam Haslinawati approve our flowchart and schematic diagram and she told we to proceed the another tasks.

WEEK 6: Literature review

Date: 4- 8/9/2017 (Monday- Friday)
Activity: Literature review
Objective: To find the exist project for get detail information about the project
Contents:

We refer 3 journal to write the literature review for our project. All the journal are previous project that have been similarity with our project. So we write the literature review of previous project to get the information about the previous project. After we get the information, we can improve our project more advance from the previous project.

Previous Works:

Power Extension
Power extension that been used to extend the electrical power from the main electricity supply via wall socket or another power extension and connects to the electrical appliances. Normal power extension has up to 5 2-pin or 3-pin socket to connect the electrical appliances or another extension. Manual switch is use to control the switch of power extension. The output of the power extension is 230v.

Arduino Based Home Automation
Home automation is used to control electrical appliances or devices. The Arduino as the based to control the relay in this project and then relay will be act as the switch to supply the power to an appliances or devices. Home automation can be control by using smartphone that will be connect via Bluetooth module and control the relay remotely with smartphone, to control it the user must use apps called “Bluetooth Controller” that can be download at Android Play Store.

iDevices Smart Wall Outlet
This smart wall outlet is produce by iDevices inc that can be control using Wi-Fi and has Google Assistant compatibility. This device can be control by using voice command through Siri, Alexa and the Google Assistant. iDevices Smart Wall Outlet has energy monitoring to monitor the energy that been used.

Conclusion:

The Friendly Power Extension will be upgraded the system with combination from previous project and will be the best and nice project.
